Robot dogs are coming to guard your office!

Companies unveil AI-powered security robots that can recognize faces and patrol buildings.

Two major tech companies just announced their plan to put robot dogs to work as security guards. Foxlink and Luminys revealed their new robotic security system at a technology conference in Taiwan last week.

What These Robot Dogs Can Do

The four-legged robots are packed with smart features that make them ideal for security work:

  • Face recognition - They can identify who belongs in a building and who doesn't
  • Heat detection - Special sensors spot unusual temperature changes that might signal problems
  • Smart navigation - The robots can move around buildings on their own without getting lost
  • Real-time alerts - They send instant updates about what they find during patrols

The robot dogs use powerful NVIDIA computer chips to process information quickly. They can even learn and improve their performance over time through artificial intelligence.

Built for Real-World Use

Unlike many experimental robots, these security dogs are designed for actual deployment in offices, campuses, and other commercial buildings. The companies tested them extensively to handle different types of terrain and situations.

"We're applying AI to the world's toughest problems—security, safety, and mobility," said Freddy Kuo, chairman of Luminys.

The robots can work in disaster response situations and routine security patrols. They're also equipped with advanced sensors that collect environmental data while they patrol.

A Global Business Strategy

Foxlink has created a three-part business model spread across different countries:

  • United States (Luminys) - Focuses on selling AI security systems to businesses
  • Taiwan (Ubilink) - Provides the computer power needed to train the AI systems
  • Taiwan (SYNC ROBOTIC) - Handles testing and development with security companies

This setup allows them to develop, test, and sell their robot security systems worldwide.

The Bigger Picture

Founded in 1984, Luminys helps businesses create smart and secure environments using connected technology. As more companies look for advanced security solutions, robot guards could become a common sight in office buildings and campuses.

The robot dogs represent a major step forward in commercial security technology, combining mobility, artificial intelligence, and real-time monitoring in a single platform that can work alongside human security teams.

While the technology is impressive, the companies haven't announced pricing or when the robot dogs will become available for purchase.
