Historic Flight: NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Soars

On Monday, history was made as NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter accomplished a remarkable feat, becoming the first aircraft to achieve powered, controlled flight on another planet. Altitude data revealed that Ingenuity ascended to its designated maximum altitude of ten feet (3 meters) and maintained a stable hover for thirty seconds before descending back to the Martian surface. In total, Ingenuity logged an impressive 39.1 seconds of flight time during its historic maiden voyage.
