COMPUTEX 2025: the tech show where tomorrow's gadgets are born

COMPUTEX 2025: Asia's biggest tech gathering will showcase AI, gaming, and much more.

Thousands of tech companies will gather in Taipei, Taiwan for COMPUTEX 2025, one of the world's most important technology events. Running from May 20-23, this massive show will reveal the computers, gadgets, and technologies that will be hitting store shelves in the coming months.

What Makes COMPUTEX Special?

Unlike other tech shows that focus on flashy prototypes that may never be sold, COMPUTEX is known for showcasing real products that will actually reach consumers. This is largely because Taiwan and its neighboring countries are where most of the world's electronics are actually made.

"It's the difference between seeing a concept car at an auto show versus visiting the actual factory where cars are built," explains one industry expert. "At COMPUTEX, you're seeing the real future of technology, not just ideas."

AI Takes Center Stage

This year's theme is "Connecting AI, Creating the Future," and artificial intelligence will be everywhere at the show. Here's what some of the biggest companies are planning:

NVIDIA, the company whose graphics cards power many AI systems, will have CEO Jensen Huang deliver a major presentation about their new "Blackwell" technology. They'll also showcase "AI factories" – systems that can train and develop artificial intelligence on an industrial scale. NVIDIA is also promoting "RTX AI PCs," computers specially designed to handle AI tasks.

GIGABYTE will reveal a modular supercomputer platform called GIGAPOD, along with personal AI assistants for everyday computers. They're also introducing mini-PCs with special chips just for AI tasks.

AMD is focusing on new Ryzen AI processors that can run artificial intelligence programs directly on your laptop or PC without needing the internet.

Beyond AI: Gaming and Storage Solutions

It's not all about AI, though. TEAMGROUP will show off incredibly fast memory for gaming computers, including RAM that can run at a blazing 10,200 MHz. They're also introducing some clever storage solutions, including an external SSD drive that works with Apple's Find My system so you can locate it if lost, and another that can instantly delete all data with one click for security.

A Brief History of COMPUTEX

COMPUTEX has come a long way since its first show in 1981, which had only 80 exhibitors. Today, it rivals CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas as one of the world's premier tech events.

The show has been the launchpad for many technologies we now take for granted. New computer processors, revolutionary laptops, and breakthrough storage technologies have all made their debuts at COMPUTEX over the years.

Why This Show Matters to Everyone

Even if you're not a tech enthusiast, COMPUTEX is worth paying attention to because it shows where our digital world is heading. The computers, phones, and gadgets that will be in stores later this year and next are being revealed at this show.

This year's focus on artificial intelligence is especially important, as AI is quickly becoming part of everyday devices – from laptops that can create artwork to smart home gadgets that better understand your needs.

"COMPUTEX is where you see the real building blocks of technology," said one industry analyst. "It's where engineers gather, not just marketers."

The show opens on Tuesday, May 20th, and we'll soon see exactly what the future of technology holds.
